Key Responsibilities
* Drive compliance with fire safety regulations, aligning with Bangladesh Labor Law and international buyer standards to ensure a secure working environment.
* Manage and maintain fire detection and firefighting equipment, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and sprinklers, to guarantee optimal functionality.
* Conduct thorough risk assessments and fire safety inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Architect and maintain emergency preparedness plans, ensuring all exit routes, fire doors, and staircases remain clear and accessible.
* Lead regular fire drills and evacuation exercises, promoting a culture of safety awareness among employees.
* Develop and deliver training programs for employees, fire wardens, and rescue teams, equipping them with essential fire safety procedures and emergency response skills.
* Design and update comprehensive fire safety plans, evacuation maps, and emergency response procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
* Oversee record-keeping of fire safety equipment, inspection logs, drill reports, and training activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, HR, and Maintenance, to drive workplace safety standards and best practices.
* Facilitate internal, external, and buyer audits related to fire and building safety, ensuring seamless compliance and adherence to regulatory standards.
* Implement safe storage and handling procedures for flammable and hazardous materials, minimizing risks and ensuring a secure working environment.
* Foster strategic relationships with local fire service authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely communication and cooperation when required.
Requirements
Experience
At least 4 years
Education
- Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)
Additional Requirements
- Practical experience in fire safety systems, emergency response and compliance audits.
- Experience working with international buyer safety standards will be preferred.
- Good understanding of firefighting systems and emergency management.
- Must have training certificate from Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), Bangladesh.
